Garage Sale

I hate to admit it, but my closets are full and I have no more room. I have small place with limited closet space, but I still feel like I have too much stuff. This often leads me to think I might be better off having a garage sale to get rid of most of it. I’ll never do it, because I know the moment I get rid of something I’ll find a use for it. If you have the same problem as I do, you may want to have one of your own to see what you can get rid of. What may be useless to you will be something someone else can use, and they will love the lower price.

If you want to have a garage sale, think about what you have. If you think you don’t have enough, you can talk with friends or neighbors to see if they have things they might want to get rid of, and then you could all do it at once. You will attract more people if you have more stuff. If someone sees just a table or two when they go by your garage sale, they are less likely to stop to see what you have to offer. There are times when communities will have a special weekend when everyone that is interested will have their own sale. You can get a lot of traffic if you participate.

Another thing to remember about a garage sale is that you have to be willing to go down on your prices. There are many that will never buy for the asking price, even if you are charging twenty five cents for a brand new blender. You may want to start by marking your prices a bit higher than you need to so that you have some bargaining room. Some just assume everything at a garage sale is overpriced, and they will always ask for a bargain. This way, you can always give them one.
